Corinne Taney christened the USCGC TANEY in 1936, and participated in the decommissioning 50 years later.
CORINNE TANEY MARKS, greatgrandniece of Roger B. TANEY, cried as the men marched off the ship. "It's wonderful. The Taney has survived,
and so have I.  I couldn't help it -- I shed a few little tears"  she said. (Corinne Taney Marks expired a few weeks later.)

Boat duty at sea with the USS TANEY CG 1944. Although the TANEY had a motor launch, we usually rowed to other ships. One time, while going to an English ship, we heard them say over their speaker system, "My word, they're paddling!"   Photo by Vern Toler
